A future and a hope - CHR official opening

CHR opening

Thursday 30th October saw the official opening of the new Coach House Regeneration Ltd building. People from all sides of the community were invited including representatives from the various funding bodies whose support had made the building a reality.

The Mayor of Armagh Councillor Noel Sheridan welcomed those present before Eithne Gilligan from Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), Denis Rooney from International Fund for Ireland (IFI) and Phelim Shervin from UIster Community Investment Trust (UCIT) made speeches.

Ian Bothwell Director of Crossfire Trust and the visionary behind Coach House Regeneration Ltd, then gave thanks to all those who had supported the project including Eddie Quinn from RE Quinn Architects who had project managed the building project.

After the speeches Mary Mckee sang a couple of songs followed by prayers of blessing from Fr Kevin Mullen and Rev David Armstrong.

A plaque was unveiled in the lobby of the building by Eithne Gilligan (SEUPB) and Denis Rooney (IFI).

The opening was followed by a buffet lunch and the cutting of a celebration cake. A horse drawn coach was provided to take people on a trip around Darkley village.
